Wild Woods Workshops - what else do we offer…?

Practical skills, nature connection, and outdoor experiences for groups and 1:1

Our Wild Woods Workshops are flexible, engaging sessions designed for secondary schools, community groups, home education groups, and staff teams.

They can be run for small groups (up to six participants) or adapted for one-to-one sessions, and each workshop is tailored to suit the needs, pace, and interests of the people taking part. Sessions can be either half-day or full-day bookings.

Coming soon - adult 1:1 workshops and therapeutic services for professionals who work within the education or child care sectors. Sessions will be open at evenings, weekends, and during the school holidays. Watch this space…

 

Wild Cooking Workshops

Learn to prepare and cook delicious food over an open fire. From the basics to more adventurous dishes, including:

  • Campfire bread and pancakes

  • Stews, curries and soups

  • Pan-fried dishes and grilling over the fire

  • Wok cooking (Thai food is our speciality!)

  • “Fire-to-table” session flow, from preparation to sharing

 

Wild Skills Workshops

Practical survival skills to increase confidence, adaptability, and problem-solving outdoors.

  • Water sourcing and purification

  • Emergency shelter building

  • Fire for warmth and cooking

  • Scenario-based challenges (adaptable for both teams and 1:1 sessions)

Wild Working Together

  • Sessions centred around team-building, team-bonding, and learning how to work together

  • Campfire conference space for youth organisations, children’s committees, school prefect training etc

  • Activities for school enrichment programmes (including AQA accreditation)

  • Adult team-building and wellbeing sessions for school staff, social workers, youth workers, and other DBS checked adults working in children’s services

Wild Workshops with Tools

Learn how to handle and care for a range of traditional woodland tools with safety and skill.

  • Knives, hatchets, and saws

  • Billhooks and other bladed tools

  • Tool safety, maintenance, and storage

  • Practical projects to develop skill and confidence

Wild Fire Workshops

Master safe, responsible campfire skills while building confidence in working with fire outdoors.

  • Collecting and processing firewood

  • Safe use of fire-lighting tools and techniques

  • Campfire management and safety procedures

  • Water boiling and simple cooking over the fire

  • Leave No Trace fire practices

Wild Connections

Nature Immersion and Environmental Stewardship

Reconnect with the natural world through activities that encourage observation, mindfulness, seasonal awareness, and activities that foster respect, care, and responsibility for the natural environment.

  • Guided sensory walks

  • Sit spots and observation activities

  • Seasonal changes and nature-based reflection

  • Twilight and after-dark sessions run during the winter

  • Litter picks and site care

  • Simple conservation tasks (e.g., invasive species removal, habitat improvement)

  • Nature-friendly fire and cooking practices

  • Leave No Trace principles in action

Practical Details

Session lengths: Typically half-day (2–3 hours) or full-day (5–6 hours).

Group sizes: Up to 6 participants for hands-on sessions to ensure safety, quality, and individual attention.

1:1 delivery: All workshops can be adapted for one-to-one sessions if preferred.

Age suitability: Most workshops are designed for ages 11+, with adaptations available for adult groups or staff teams.

Location: Delivered in a safe, private woodland setting. Shelter is available in poor weather.

Adaptability: All sessions can be tailored for specific needs.

Booking: Workshops can be booked as a one-off or as part of a series, and content is tailored to your aims and the needs of your group or individual participant.
